My name is Nicholas Pierce. I'm twenty years old and an undergrad at Texas Tech University, where I study creative writing. Poetry didn't interest me much before college, but after picking up Larry Levis' Elegy on a teacher recommendation, I fell in love. His work made me realize the limitless freedom of a poem, in travel, in imagination, rules, language and craft, and for that reason, I write. I want to help someone, as Levis did for me, discover the liberty in poetry.
