From Dallas, just recently arrived here in SF, enjoying the great food and music, the affectionate people, met some of the unseemly and they see me too. Just a modicum of strangeness in the streets, and you wonder sometimes 'are they as strange as me?'. And know they are... Yet, all new to me still. Creating something that this city begs me to release. Just not sure if anybody 'reads' anymore. I hope so, SF gives it graciously.

thoughts of leaving 'home' and coming back to home.

Redwood
gets too tough to keep the tears from my eyes
sometimes
when I think of all those I've ruined
and all those stained-handed handshakes
I've never gotten over
singing 'Old Man' with drunks
near Woodall-Rogers freeway
kissed a sad lady two times
but was on way too much Ecstasy
sailboating down Turtle Creek
high on youth and insanity
insane enough as youth makes you
and sane enough to know
how to be free
find rivers instead of creeks
oceans instead of seas
and be stronger inside
if you have to be
than the thickest
California Redwood tree...
